Fulham - Hughes on Emirates Loss!

Fulham - Hughes on Emirates Loss!

Despite the 2-1 reverse, Mark Hughes was enthusiastic about our display at the Emirates Stadium yesterday.

We may well be lurking near the relegation zone but Mark isn`t concerned about the side getting sucked into a relegation battle, remarking in his post match press conference,

"You could see how we are capable of performing."

"It gives me confidence that we won`t have a problem this year. We are missing key attacking players and that will always hurt us."

"In terms of the attitude of the group and the belief we`ll take from today, I think we will be fine."

And as for yesterday, Hughes thought, like us, one man made the difference, further adding,

"That was the difference."

"The boy Nasri is playing at the top of his game."

"There was very little between the teams."

"We probably edged it in terms of chances and the momentum we created."

"After the initial 15 or 20 minutes we gave ourselves a platform. I`m happy enough with the performance."

"We showed real belief in what we wanted to do today and we took the game to Arsenal."

In hindsight does anyone else think we deserved at least a draw?

No. We were beaten. We gave a good account of ourselves, but Arsenal deserved the points.

We've lost it for not reacting on Nasri's tricks properly. That's his 3 points. Seriously, two times he'd managed to shake our defenders like schoolboys = two goals, there you go! Hope it was just our loss of concentration and his luck not his "class", then, well - another lesson learned, I think. Still, somehow Hughes' stone face keeps me confident we'll not fail.

we were beaten, but it could have been different... another striker would have finished kamara's second chance...
