Fulham - A Crumb of Comfort!

In our current lowly Premier League position, albeit probably because of our inability to win on the road, I often look for crumbs of comfort as we approach a tricky game at a weekend.

This Saturday Manchester City, and all their millions, visits Craven Cottage for a fixture both sides have designs on winning.

Manchester City are under a degree of pressure having spent such an enormous amount of cash as they seek to gate-crash the Champions League party next season, a failure to score at home in their last three fixtures have put added pressure on Roberto Mancini to win his away fixtures, otherwise it could be the exit door for the Italian.

But, returning to those crumbs of comfort I spoke about earlier, I noticed tonight that the first choice Manchester City goalkeeper, Joe Hart, has been ruled out of the England fixture tonight. It is also widely expected that Hart will miss the weekend fixture at Craven Cottage.

Could this be our chance to notch up a home win, could this be that crumb of comfort I look for to open the door ajar and then kick it wide open? Perhaps so until you note that Hart`s replacement is likely to be Shay Given, a more than able deputy who is also the record appearance maker for the Republic of Ireland.

Some crumb of comfort!

No comfort at all. Given is exceptional. However, we could always hope that Sheikh Mansour drops his money clip under his seat. We could use it to buy a few players. Finders keepers, you know.
