Fulham - Speroni Was Keen on Move!

With Mark Schwarzer having, seemingly, wanted to go to Arsenal in the recent transfer window, a move would have kick-started a right keeper merry-go-round.

It was widely reported that Fulham were looking at the Crystal Palace keeper, Julian Speroni, as a ready made replacement but he too, it appears, was disappointed that the merry-go-round never got started with the keeper admitted e fancied a move to Craven Cottage, having remarked,

"Of course I knew of the interest and I must admit at the time it was a bit disappointing.'

'It was a good opportunity for me to go and play at the highest level but in the end I'm not sure how talks went and it is not myself that makes the last decision."

'I have been here a long time and I am very happy here so I have no problem staying.

'It was more the chance to play in the Premier League, not that I want to leave Palace."

And the moral of the story being - you don`t get everything you want in this life of ours!

anyone know if he would have made for good backup?
woodysweats
recently i have been keeping tabs on him and he seems pretty consistent.....a good shot stopper! If we sell mark in jan i think those funds could tempt palace to sell, though if the interest does continue, the price could be higher, especially if mark goes first.
