Fulham - Baird New Contract!

Slowly, but surely, since taking over, Mark Hughes is dealing with a situation whereby there were far too many players coming tothat dangerous area whereby their contracts are such that they could walk away from Craven Cottage, next summer, on a free transfer.

The latest player to be placed firmly in the must be kept category, is Chris Baird

Baird, who has only been utilized once this season, as a substitute against Wolves, has impressed Mark Hughes suitably enough to be awarded a new deal that will see him remain a Fulham player for a couple of years to come.

Chris might not be everybody`s cup of tea but last season, when called upon, he rarely let anybody down and is perceived, by us, as a vital squad member offering cover in a variety of positions!

I think he's a perfectly good defensive mid. I just don't like him in the back four, but he's a good utility player and I suspect his salary makes him worth keeping.

I have been impressed with the way he has worked at his game. He is far better than he was two years ago and I suspect he will still improve.

An excellent player that has been with fulham through the changes from bad to good....as the position of Fulham has improved over the years, so has his contribution....like dempsey! Well done mark, sounds like his thinking was on the same wave length as danny murphy! Sign them up and lock em down!
