Fulham - Schwarzer Stays!

It`s common knowledge that Mark Schwarzer has been angling for a move to Arsenal for many weeks now, but how did it turn out for Mark on transfer deadline day?

Suggestion - Mark entered the day hoping that he`d get his wish with a quip attributed to him in the morning press saying,

"I`m biding my time waiting for something to happen. I`m always hopeful."

The red-top tabloid press was quite reticent that Arsenal would be forced to test Fulham`s resolve believing that a £4 million bid could do the trick.

Outcome - The morning progressed with a separate rumour doing the rounds that Arsenal might well switch their attentions to Lyon`s excellent goalkeeper, Hugo Lloris. As the grapevine spread more gossip the indications were that Mark would not be granted his wish to leave, a fact confirmed with Fulham refusing to budge on their stance!

tough really... stockdale could be the answer, and mark could have been playing champs league football... if money didn't exist, this move would have happened earlier this summer...

true but i think mark's head was turned and with wenger games he thought mark would push for the deal to go through. Hughes did not budge!! Simple, arsenal wanted him on the cheap. Egg on face for Fulham's one one!!

I feel bad for Schwarzer, he should have been allowed to get his move. Unfortunately Wenger dilly-dallied and Hughes is a tightass. This deal should have been done ages ago and a replacement found.
