Fulham - Davies Pens New Contract!

After declaring that his international career was over, Simon Davies has confirmed his presence in the Fulham set up by signing a new deal.

Davies, according to the official site, has signed a three year deal that should see him finish his career at Craven Cottage.

Contract talks were originally put on hold whilst the thirty-year old Welshman proved his fitness after a season disrupted, last time out, by a troublesome foot injury.

Speaking about the new contract, Davies is quoted as having remarked,

"It`s great that it`s finally done."

"I`ve loved my time here, I`m excited for the future and hopefully I`ll finish my career here."

I`m sure you`ll join me in offering congratulations to Simon.

Great news. Congrats Simon!

Davies has been a solid performer (not outstanding, but solid) and a loyal player, but a three-year deal??? at his age??? Not a big fan of this development.

I think this is an important signing.....it shows that fulham can be a club to play at for many years!!!

how old is he now? 29? 30? 31? three years may be too many... i hoped that a player of davies quality wouldn't be in the squad in three years as we'd progressed so much... should he have started over dempsey?
