Fulham - Stockdale Rising to Prominence!

With the keeper situation still a little fuzzy, the gloves were in the possession of David Stockdale yesterday.

Stockdale, signed from Darlington, spent the latter part of last season on loan at Plymouth Argyle where he established himself as a fans favourite, yesterday his splendid display helped Fulham to a share of the points at the Reebok Stadium, prompting Mark Hughes t remark post match,

"I thought David played really well and showed a lot of confidence."

"He has really impressed me so I had no qualms about throwing him in. He helped the rest of the back-four."

With Schwarzer still being mentioned as a possible Arsenal transfer target, could Stockdale have shown, yesterday, that he`s ready for the step up to our first team?

I thought he was good for debut.. he could work in his positioning a bit... but overall good and i didnt realise that hes a big solid boy ,his shoulders look huge ..its rare to see a built keeper these days most are skinny

He played well and I wasn't surprised in the slightest. He was a bit shaky against Bournemouth in pre-season but it's clear he has the ability. About time we starting filtering him into the first team.

I think he's England grade without a doubt but he'll always be second fiddle to Joe Hart now; unfortunately.

he's got the quality, but does he have the consistentcy? i'd be happy with him starting throughout the season... we just have to remember that we're developing him if he turns in a howler...
