Fulham - Carling Cup Draw News!

One suspects that the domestic cups are our best chance of chasing honours this season.

With no Europa League glory to chase and no realistic chance of hunting down the Premier League crown, the FA and Carling Cups could be the openings we crave for domestic success.

Now with the FA Cup not starting until January (for us) our immediate cup focus is on the lesser of the two domestic cup competitions - the Carling Cup.

This week the sides in the lower echelons of the Football League have been participating in the first round of the Carling Cup and last night the draw took place for round two.

In the reference draw, Fulham were paired with Port Vale from League Two, and will play a home tie in the week commencing 23rd August.

On paper a very winnable tie but then again it doesn`t pay to be complacent in cup competitions does it Queens Park Rangers!
