Fulham - Hughes Shock?

If Mohammed Al Fayed used a mild expletive to describe Roy Hodgson after his departure for Liverpool then we`d imagine there would be a few choice ones coming from his mouth if a strange scenario suggested by one news outlet were to materialize.

With Martin O`Neill`s shock resignation announcement last night the inevitable list of possible replacements has been drawn up by all and sundry. Well one name on one list that came to our attention, peddled by this one news outlet, has Mark Hughes in a prominent position.

Now they have either neglected to take note that Hughes signed a two year deal with Fulham only a matter of a fortnight ago or they`re of the opinion that Hughes could up sticks and walk away from Craven Cottage for the Villa Park job without managing Fulham in a single competitive game!

He wouldn`t do that surely, would he?

As you say, anything is possible, but it would honestly be a crazy move for all parties. Hughes would come out of this red-faced to an extent. Accepting a job only to walk out a week later? He'd be ridiculed; not least by us Fulham fans. For Hughes it wouldn't be a big enough step up to warrant the embarrassment. As for us; we'd be well and truly f***ed.

Al Fayed wouldn't let him go, simple. He has been humiliated enough with the Jol situation.

Initially i was shocked at the prospect.....but then in this crazy world of the football money mill machine and loss of loyalty, i would not be surprised. I just hope its not us that suffer this fate. I hope mark stays for his contract term atleast.
