Fulham - Brad Freidel?

Fulham - Brad Freidel?

Strange goings on up at Villa Park!

The resignation of Martin O`Neill caught everybody by surprise and the reasons for the Irishman doing such a thing are varied according to which newspaper or tabloid you pick up.

But one carries the implication that has a Fulham reference. It implies that the final straw for Martin came not when he was told that he`d not be getting all the money from the potential sale of James Milner to Manchester City but that Brad Freidel wanted to leave Villa Park for Fulham.

Now that puzzled me and got me thinking, dangerous I know!

After stating that Mark Schwarzer wouldn`t be leaving Fulham would we really be in the market for another veteran keeper even though he served Hughes well during their spells at Blackburn? Or has Hughes relented and decided that Schwarzer can go to Arsenal and that Freidel would make an ideal replacement?

Like I say, I`m completely puzzled by this suggestion!

Vital Boxing - Bellew Wants Lebedev Next

He was interviewed this morning on sky sports news, he said that the rumour has been made up and he hasn't had any contact what so ever with fulham so i can assure you he will be staying put. Cant see any reason why he would want to leave for fulham though except linking back up with hughes really.

Mark or Brad, either is fine by me. I agree with you Truth Sayer, trouble is afoot at Villa Park, a tough year will be had by them. Perhaps Friedal knows what is coming!

i'd be ok with friedel... he's good...
10/08/2010 18:32:00
Sorry fulham fans but you dont no what you are talkng about. Lerner has got money he just doesnt want o'neil wastin it like he has done in the past so o'neil has gone of sulkin because he couldnt get his own way. Just because we lost o'neil doesnt mean we will have a bad season, we will get a manager just as good in and only sell milner and can replace him with ireland easily so it will all be good down Villa lads in the next few weeks, clubs have lost managers but gone on stronger such as yourselves. So there will be no clearout as we have no debt we run our club like a buisness thats why he doesn't wanna throw money around but we have plently of cash

Im sorry but i read "desperation" in your response P.Avfc. Player unrest, best players being sold or linked to move. Club cut backs. Martin leaving is a massive blow. Sorry but you will struggle now, especially with europa games up and coming. As we all know and have experienced, where there is smoke......
11/08/2010 08:40:00
You dont no anything about our club? One player is being sold and that is Milner so i dont nget your point? You talk asif fulham are all of a sudden bigger than villa because you have got mark hughes? Why will we struggle in europa we have 35m of players on the bench who aint gonna be sold now O'neil has gone, our club is gonna be better of without him, he didnt have the skill to take us on to the next level and we want someone who will. Villa are better thav ever
11/08/2010 12:52:00
ok what about shorey sidwell rio cokea to make top for you have to spend big and the truth is learner is not perperd to do that if you cant keep your bests players as mark hughes says you ave no chance it all started when barry left anyway best of luck villa fans you had a great few years
truth sayer ffc
12/08/2010 00:52:00
But your a fulham fan so you cant say anything? Shorey, sidwell and reo-coker are all players that we dont want and can sell, James milner is beng sold and we will get stephen ireland who is a better player and Ashley Young will be sticking around for at least another season. Nothing has changed at villa, out chairman wants to lower the wage budget thats all because o'neil messed the wage structure up by offering 29 year olds a high salary and a 5 year contract. Randy Lerner is willing to give the manager the money to spend, he just wants to balance the books first, he is in the top 6 of the chairmans with the most money so you cant say he has none. O'neil has gone which will work out for the better, we will get a decent manager in and will have ireland in the bag and be a better team from last year.
