Fulham 5 Werder Bremen 1

I doubt if Mark Hughes will be able to keep this up but there`s no doubting that the 5-1 drubbing of Werder Bremen will give the lads a lot of confidence ahead of our season opener next weekend.

Fulham had to come back from a goal down when Werder Bremen took the lead through the ex-Chelsea striker, Claudio Pizarro.

But it was a different state of affairs after the break. Bobby Zamora, hoping for an England call up tonight, equalised before Zoltan Gera, restored to the Hungary squad for the friendly against England, hit a hat-trick inside twelve minutes.

Even Eddie Johnson got on in the act notching up the fifth on a delightful afternoon next to the River Thames.

Funny how a game can change, Werder Bremen looked pretty tidy in the first half and Schwarzer had to make a couple of good saves. But the second half, they looked average. Am looking forward to watching the goals back, if I can find them on Sky! Thought there would be more support there today.
