Fulham Manager - will it be Hughes?

Fulham Manager - will it be Hughes?

Rumours are growing that Mark Hughes will be the next Fulham manager.

Hughes has been out of work since Manchester City moved him out in order to accommodate Roberto Mancini.

Despite Sven Goran Eriksson's name being bandied about its seems that Hughes is now favourite according to the bookmakers.

SkyBet.com have odds of 11/10 on 46-year-old Hughes being named the new manager.

Ladbrokes.com, StanJames.com,PaddyPower.com and others also have Hughes as favourite ahead of Eriksson.

Whoever takes over though will have to get their skates on with just over 2 weeks to the start of the new season.

I'd be happy with Hughes; he has Premiership experience and did well at Blackburn and City before they got shot of him. And his off field life doesn’t occupy both the front and back pages unlike a certain swede I could mention. lol

Hughes would be fine with me. But please, let's get this done and dusted so that he can get going and start bringing in a couple of players. Did he bring in Ireland at City?

is there any basis for this, or did one bookmaker go out on a limb and the others followed suit? i like him, just let me know when it's done!

Please, Please, get him. Surely Ali Mac and he can put the interest of the club first. Chairman Mo should really push for Hughes.

No Hughes did not bring Ireland to City, he came up through the ranks. You could do a lot worse than giving Sparky a go. He tries to play attacking football and expects players to perform. If he can learn how to run a zonal defence he will do well at Fulham.
