Fulham - Don`t Panic!

There`s only 18 days to go until the 2010 / 2011 Premier League season kicks off and without a manager at the helm of our football club I feel a bit like Corporal Jones (from Dads Army) about to issue a cry of "Don`t Panic" Mr Mainwaring!

I can`t help thinking that those eighteen days are going to shoot by and that we`ll be kicking off the new season still in something of a lull managerial wise.

But the word from inside the Fulham camp remains that the club are in no rush to make a rash appointment with a club spokesperson leaking to the media,

"The chairman is obviously confident we will have someone in place but we won`t be rushed into making a decision."

"There is no deadline. The chairman wants to make sure he has the right man for the job."

"He is very happy with the way preparations are going under Ray Lewington so we are not panicking."

"It`s business as usual, Ray Lewington is doing a great job with the pre-season campaign."

"The managerial situation will be resolved."

I should hope so, Ray Lewington has already intimated that he doesn`t want the job permanently and at the moment he`s being left to shape our hopes for the forthcoming season!

Let's hope so, it would be a shame to let all the hard work the Roy and the boys have done over the last two years go to waste.
