Fulham - Don`t Do It Roy!

Just don`t do it!

Following his move to Liverpool, I speculated that he may return to Craven Cottage to snare one or two of our players.

The initial indications were that I had got it wrong. Statements circulating on the internet implied that Roy had promised not to raid his former club and asset strip.

But, whether those words came from his mouth or not remains debatable.

I say that because there are now strong rumours doing the rounds that Roy is set to strengthen the heart of Liverpool`s defence by signing Steven Taylor (Newcastle) and a certain Brede Hangeland.

The fee quoted for Brede is £7.5 million, which would be a handy return on our initial outlay but where would we find someone as classy defensively?

Don`t do it to us Roy, please!

I don't blame him, but £7.5m is too low. ManU paid as much for Smalling and I don't think anyone can argue the Smalling is better than Hangeland. Brede is worth at least £10m, but I think I'd demand £12-15m.

Roy actually said himself that he had agreed not to raid Fulham for players in his press conference, so is this just more lazy journalism, I certainly hope so. But if it’s true then at the very least £10 - £12M for Hangeland
