Fulham - Capello Snippet?

As the inquest continues as to why England were so embarrassingly bad over in South Africa 2010, one interesting line was spoken by the under-pressure Fabio Capello.

When being question about players that could step up and replace those who so badly under-performed, the following line was spoken,

"Then we have Gabriel Agbonlahor and Bobby Zamora. He is not young but he was injured this time."

Now part of me reckons Bobby would have been glad not to have been associated with that shambles whilst another part of me reckons he would still have loved to have been part of the squad merely as recognition for the wonderful season he had last time out.

Perhaps, if Fabio is still in charge come the first of the Euro 2012 qualifiers, our Bobby just might, finally, get his chance.

it will all depend on how he fairs next season if he still has that fire

Wouldn't count on it, but a nice acknowledgement, all the same.

its a good bet had bobby not been injured cappello would have picked him

It's a good bet that had Bobby been fit we could have won the Europa League as well, then he could have gone to South Africa, been a hero, saved our world cup campaign, come back persuaded Roy to stay and fire us to forth next season, OK I’m going for lie down now, I really must stop picking my own mushrooms lol

It certainly looked to me like England could have done with those "rejected" players. Bobby, Gabby Agbonlahor, Ash Young and Theo Walcott would have made a difference. Then again, WTF was Capello up to? What did he do to turn good footballers into muppets? Good luck next season (from a Villan) I hope you keep Boss Roy.

thanks andy but i feel for the worst......deep down hope for the best!!! Losing Roy to england would be bitter sweet....fulham's loss, bobby's gain (england call up)

he made some odd decisions, but it was same old england, wasn't it? same old usa also though... what a chance we had to go farther...
