Fulham - England Keeper Linked?

With the Roy Hodgson situation swaying one way and then another, it looks as if another will-he won`t-he saga could be drawing to an end.

Mark Schwarzer, the subject of an increased bid from Arsenal, looks to be on his way to North London with Fulham already being linked with a replacement.

Yesterday we speculated as to how we might need a stop-gap keeper until David Stockdale reaches a level of competence needed for the Premier League and the name in the frame today as one such candidate is none other than David James.

Apparently, James will turn down the offer of a player/coach role at Fratton Park to move to Craven Cottage on a free transfer.

In our opinion we could do far worse as James, despite his advancing years, remains one of the best keepers in the Premier League!

We`ll keep you abreast of any developments.

still could be a free fall to the championship

james on a free for a year as stockdale gets better, we could do worse... stockdale next year is primed i think... this year might be a bit rough if we stuck him in...

you may be right woody but dont for get portsmouth stuck with him for a year to long he may not be the whole reason the went down alot of issues but he did not help matters like when mark left bough or given left newcastle a good keeper is worth 10 or 15 points a season can make a big difference like a 20 gole striker
