Fulham - Sidwell in Link to Cottage Move!

After completing our first signing of the summer, in the shape of Philippe Senderos, Fulham are closing in on a second.

Apparently, Fulham are leading the race to sign the Aston Villa midfielder, Steve Sidwell.

Sidwell, who has previously played for Reading and Chelsea, as well as being on the books of Arsenal as a youngster, is said to be surplus to requirements at Villa Park.

Other clubs are said to be interested in Sidwell, most notably, Sunderland and West Ham but Fulham appear to have stolen a march on all of them by making an early bid for the twenty-seven year old.

In your opinion would Sidwell make a good buy?

I used to think highly of Sidwell, but now I don't know what to think. I'm OK with it as long as we don't spend too much. Based on his recent performance, I wouldn't pay more than £2.5m (maybe £3m if I had a good day at the track).

No, I wouldn't say he's better, but he's certainly younger and that is something we need to address.
