Fulham - Schwarzer Latest!

I never thought I`d see the day when little old Fulham would be able to resist the overtures of Arsenal Football Club.

But that day appears to have come!

Arsenal`s interest in Mark Schwarzer has been confirmed as more than just being a rumour with the Arsenal chairman, Peter Hill-Wood, quoted in the press as having remarked,

"We certainly have made an enquiry for Schwarzer and Fulham are not prepared to sell him, so we have gone away."

David slays Goliath again - well sort of!

They reportedly offered £3m. I wonder what will happen if they come back with £4m or £5m. I don't think they'll spend that kind of money on a 37-year-old, but it depends on how desperate they are.

Av a laugh, theres no slaying here. You are dealing with Arsenal, moreso Arsene. They're no Barcalona or Real Madrid with media attacks and tapping up. They do things by the book, even play by the book... mostly. Just like Fulham really.

would we rather get something out of him before he goes though? realistically, would fulham fans be prepared for stockdale for the next season? he seems to be playing well wherever he's loaned... and it's seems like the timing of schwarzer's deal will be perfect for making the swtich next summer... if that's the case, it becomes a debate of how much one year of schwarzer is worth passing up... 3 mil, he's worth that in one season... 4.5 mil, we're getting closer... and leofrancis, it's nice dealing with two teams going by the book...
