Fulham - How Things Change!

It would be a lie to say anyone connected to Fulham Football Club has found the current close season to have been good so far.

Rumours of our great manager leaving, talk of one of our best keepers of all time being stolen for a small fee and the return of rumours that Hangeland is off to Arsenal have not made for comfortable reading.

Yet last night the club swooped to sign Phillipe Senderos. Sure, he isn't a world beater but he is still young, has experience at a high level and under the guidance of Roy Hodgson could turn into a fantastic centre half. And all for nothing!

Further comment comes in the tabloids today linking us with a move for Standard Liege striker Dieumerci Mbokani for a sizeable fee.

A player who on paper has all the right attributes to be a massive success in the Premier League.

All of this makes me think that in fact the tabloids have been stunningly wrong and that Hodgson is set to stay and take our club onto greater things.

Our squad intact. Our manager still on the job. And, at least one decent signing to speak of. I won't complain, but it's a long summer and I'm not breathing easy, just yet.

Judging by the comments from Senderos about looking forward to working with Roy, you could get the impression that Roy has given him some assurance’s that he will be hear next year and I like to think that Roy is a man of his word at least I’m hopping he is :-)

Speaking of Mbokani, I know nothing about him, but the few stats that I could find suggest he's been fairly prolific where ever he's been. Still, £8m is indeed a lot of money for a 24-year-old from the Jupiler Pro League. For that kind of money, I'd expect to see him on the pitch for the first match of the season!
