Fulham - Schwarzer Going To?

Although Mark Schwarzer had previously suggested he was happy to see out the one-year left on his contract at Craven cottage, the tabloid media are now suggesting he may be tempted by Arsenal`s interest.

Schwarzer, looking forward to the World Cup keeping goal for his native Australia, has, according to one tabloid, sounded out Roy Hodgson about the possibility of joining Arsenal and according to the tabloids received a favourable response.

With Arsenal quoted as having £3 million to spend on Schwarzer as they seek a season long stop gap deal to shore up their defence. At 37 years of age, it`d be hard to turn such a deal down and we suspect that Fulham are already looking around for an experienced stopper to sign once Arsene Wenger wraps up this deal.

When did all this discussion take place? As I understand it Roy is on holiday in Wales and Mark is in South Africa. I cannot imagine such talks taking place over the phone. I certainly hope that if Roy did give Mark the nod it is not the case that he too will be walking out the door. I hope I am wrong on all counts.

Roy is the most important. I don't worry about the squad if we retain Roy. We can make do without Schwarzer if it comes down to it.
