Fulham - Hodgson 50/50!

Rafa Benitez office has hardly had time to be cleaned but already the short-list published yesterday, regarding a suitable replacement, has been reduced to two.

Unfortunately, despite us hoping otherwise, the name of (Sir) Roy Hodgson remains firmly in the frame with the tabloids suggesting that Liverpool will be making discreet approaches to Roy and also the Bayern Munich boss - Louis van Gaal.

Quite how discreet these approaches will be remain to be seen but with Kenny Dalglish over-seeing the recruitment we`d imagine rapid progress will be made.

Roy is on a rolling contract with Fulham and it is reckoned that it`ll take something in the region of 2.5 million in compensation to lure him away from Craven Cottage - small change for such a competent manager we`d say.

At Vital Fulham we`re desperately trying to find negative points that we feel might deter Roy from taking the position but the more we think about it the more likely it is that the lure of one last hurrah could well prove to be too much.

Short list of two, we feel it`s fast becoming one as we can`t see Van Gaal leaving Bayern, can you?

No more worried than I was yesterday. I just want it settled quickly. If he leaves, we need to time to find a replacement and time for that replacement to recruit players to suit his style.

well from what Ive heard they have no money to spend so even roy would struggle to make top four with the likes of city and spurs spending more and more each year

he could raise a fortune by sacrificing Torres or Gerrard or even both but that would test hsi popularity with the scousers from day one!
Al Billy
what a start to an Anfield career that would be!
