'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - A Phone Call Away?

So much for the presumption, yesterday, that the future of Roy Hodgson looked to be with Fulham!

Lurking on the internet, last night, were quotes form the man himself that have once again sown those seeds of doubt in my mind.

Speaking about the vacancy at Inter Milan, Roy is quoted in the Italian media as having remarked,

'I don't know who could be the coach.'

'I saw an interview where Capello said he wanted to stay with England, but in that type of situation it is impossible to know where the truth lies.

'There has been so much speculation on Benitez's future. The last thing I heard was that he wanted to stay at Liverpool, as he still has a four-year contract."

'I haven't spoken to anyone or heard anything from Inter."

'There is the same type of speculation around my name as you get with Capello and Benitez.'

'I have a contract with Fulham."

'The day I receive a call from someone, then that is the moment I'll think about these things. For the moment I'm not thinking about them.'

Just one phone call then?

If Inter offer a contract that has a claus regarding the England coach or just two seasons then I think he would have a serious offer to consider, but he can not do better than Mourinho which might affect his decision.

Again, I can't imagine Roy being foolish enough to try to follow Mourinho after Inter just won the CL and are facing the possibility of losing a number of key players to other clubs, particularly those interested in following Mourinho to Real Madrid.

Personally I believe Roy is happy with his lot at Fulham. I will be a tad surprised if he were to jump ship

I think its all down to big mo roy I sure has enough in the bank but if he is given enough money to spend healready has a good squad and an under standing with the chairman after all roy is our prize asset
