Fulham - Greening to Sign!

Our most recent poll, sparked by the fact that Fulham have to decide on his future now that his loan spell is up, didn`t point too favourably in his direction.

In fact a higher percentage wouldn`t want to see him signed (70%) than do (30%), so we`d certainly be interested to hear your views on a little snippet dug from a tabloid today that implies we`re about to pay £3 million to secure his services on a permanent basis!

he is definitely not a permanent signing! we have one ageing centre midfielder in Murphy and im not being funny but Murphy is older yet 10 times the player greening is! we are fortunate in that we have a good squad and i think that with the money made this year(apparently 25m available??) i think we should be looking to 1. get a 20-25yr old CM to gradually replace Murph e.g. O'hara and 2. find a real striking threat to partner bob. this would clearly be 3mill wasted if we signed him!

If the tabloid speaks the truth, which I hope it doesn't, I can not see what Roy can see in him. He is a terrible holding midfielder. 3 million! not worth 1 million in my eyes. In Roy we trust, don't sign him!

Unfortunately, from what I've read, we owe the £3m, regardless. I'm afraid this was just a short-sighted attempt to provide depth for our European campaign. What we've done is, in order to get him on loan for one season, we agreed to pay £3m for a player who would've been out of contract this summer, anyway. Now, we're not sure if we want him. Well, we've already paid for him, so I don't that we have much choice. Really, really poor decision by the club.

My reading is that we are well and truly lumbered with a £3m guy who doesn't want to take responsibility and who only does short passes sideways and backwards.

I was under the impression that this deal was a foregone conclusion. Still; I can voice my disgust and tell the World I'd rather he wasn't at Fulham. Not delighted. Not at that price.

It took Gera two season to hit form, so I'm willing to be patient, but knowing full well that we need to find a replacement for Murphy, these kinds of deals just puzzle me! I also don't understand the fascination with signing defensive midfielders. How many do we need?

That is true Teddy. How many do we need. We did not need greening at the time and we sure do not need him now. If he hits form in two years he'll be 33. Please no but, I think it's done and dusted.
