'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Zamora Birmingham Link (2)

It`s a rumour that refuses to die, a rumour that causes me concern every time I stumble across it.

Several tabloids are persisting wit the implication that Birmingham City are keen on Bobby Zamora, even though the initial suggestion was that his salary was outside of what they`re prepared to pay.

I hoped it was a rumour that would die a natural death but just like the 'Zamora to Hull` ones of last summer, this one still gives me an uneasy feeling.

Perhaps I should seek comfort in the fact that Birmingham have others lined up to reinforce their attack, but viewing the names of Steven Fletcher (Burnley) and Kris Boyd (Glasgow Rangers) only fills me with further anxiety.

If you had to pick one out of the three, which one would you pursue with vigour?

Exactly! See where I`m coming from?

the only console that i can offer putney is that i cannot see bobby leaving for birmingham... are they really more ambitious than Fulham? If Roy stays, so will Bobby...

Reports I read suggest they're about to sign Zigic from Valencia, so that should put this rumor to bed.

We want Zamora as well as Zigic. Are Birmingham more ambitious than Fulham? I don't want to offend you but YES! Fulham are fantastic they have been in the Premier League for many years on such a small budget. But Birmingham are a team that should have achived so much more already. We finished 9th last season you finished 12th you achived success in Europe but many would consider 9th place in the PL better than European finalist!
Mark Thomas
I certainly don't doubt Birmingham's ambition. Last season was a tremendous re-emergence into the PL, and you're wasting no time this summer, so hats off. BUT, the only reason Fulham didn't finish higher in the table was our focus on the Europa League. Had we been knocked out by Juventus, we would've taken 9th place. We easily threw away 9 points, at minimum. So, is Birmingham a richer club - yes. Is Birmingham a more ambitious club - yes. Is Birmingham a better team - absolutely not!

Birmingham are a heck of a lot better than Fulham. There's a massive difference look at your stadium, look at your fanbase, look at the kind of money you spend, look at the players you attract. For gods sake you signed Stephen Kelly who's one of the worst right backs I've ever seen at Birmingham. You're a good team no doubt and you have justification in finishing mid-table but not any higher I'm sorry you have no justification for that because you don't have the sustainability neither do we but we are building on it. When Birmingham were in the PL more often than not we finished above Fulham. I respect your opinion I just don't agree with it.
Mark Thomas
Mark Thomas! John Thomas more like!
Al Billy
Well, I can't disagree with you on the Stephen Kelly signing. That one has us all stumped. As for the rest, we'll have to agree to disagree. Luckily, we'll get a chance to see next season. We won't have European football, so there should be no distractions. We'll see who's better.
