Fulham - Shorey`s Not The One?

Fulham - Shorey`s Not The One?

It`s appearing highly unlikely that Nicky Shorey will be staying with Fulham.

Signed on loan, from Aston Villa, to give cover when Paul Konchesky was injured, the defender appeared more than adequate to survive at Premier League level.

But, as the season went on, his appearances became fewer and fewer and the writing now appears to be on the wall with regards to his future with rumours in circulation that he may be swapping the claret and blue of Aston Villa for the claret and blue of West Ham United.

Nothing official has been said about the situation but with Paul Konchesy linked to a move, by the tabloids, to Birmingham City, we could be on the lookout for a new left back very soon but it appears, according to rumours, that Nicky Shorey is not that man!

that is very surprising... he's was a more than adequate back up when konch was out... he seems like a no nonsense player who doesn't cause any controversy in the press... what's not to like? i'm confused...

I would love for him to sign on and think he still may. In all honesty I'd prefer to keep Konch as he has that attacking threat that seems to come in handy every now and then. We don't score many goals as it is, so the deeper our attacking options lie, the better.

I would be very surprised if any of the starting 11 who played in the europa final leaves. Dempsey too. Nevland has gone....his knowledge and experience will be missed on the training field for the other strikers

Shame if it's true, i thought he would make a good back up to Konch and also give him some competition for a starting place.

Just to throw this out there, I believe Emanuel Pogatetz and Jonathan Grounds are out of contract at 'Boro. They are both leftbacks by trade, though I think Pogatetz can also play central. If Konchesky goes, you could grab a starter and backup for no transfer fee at all.
