Fulham - Birmingham Double Swoop?

One major negative aspect of our glorious Europa League march is that it has highlighted the fact that we have some damn fine players.

Unfortunately, with several of them approaching the stages of their contracts whereby contract talks are due, there is a possibility that we could lose one or two of them.

Already the tabloid press are printing articles suggesting that this fine side of ours could well be on the verge of being broken up and has even implied that improving Birmingham are set to be the first to strike to try and wrestle Bobby Zamora and Paul Konchesky away from Craven Cottage.

Konchesky is one of those approaching the final stages of his contract whereas the implication is that thanks to his goal scoring form Bobby could be after an improved contract.

I sense that there are worrying times ahead for Fulham supporters but all we can do is sit tight and wait and see how the close season develops, hopefully everything could turn out in our favor but, somehow, I doubt it!

There are not bunches of decent leftbacks out there. I'm not the biggest Konchesky fan, so I'm not terribly bothered by the prospect, but I hope we have a deal for Shorey in the works. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a second leftback signing if Konch leaves, as we'll need cover. Not sure if Buchtmann is quite ready, yet.

I could definitely see Zamora departing if the price is right.

Birmingham? no offense, but are they not in line for second season syndrome next year... hopefully bobby will be smarter than that... konch could go if we keep shorey, but realistically, leftbacks are hard to find...
