Hodgson for England? Why not!

According to Vital England Roy Hodgson would make a good future England manager - not that they want to try and steal him away from Fulham or see Fabio Capello move on too soon mind!

Vital England says: I had previously, not quite laughed off, but dismissed the thought but the more you think about it the more you think exactly that - why not?

The guy has worked wonders with Fulham over the past couple of seasons, who would have thought Fulham could get a the final of a European competition eh! Merely making it into Europe was a mighty achievement in itself.

Hodgson has so much experience throughout the world, having managed in leagues throughout Europe - and on the whole been successful wherever he has been. International football is also something that Hodgson is more than capable of doing, having had experience at this level as well...

I would hope that Fabio Capello continues after the world cup, although if he decides to move on are there really that many better options, and English options at that, than Roy Hodgson? That said waiting another 2-years until after the European championships when Capello is scheduled to move on would not really make it too late for Hodgson either, would it?

What do you think?

This is just a sample section (feel free to leave comments here and there), read the full article on this link - England - why not indeed?

I have to be a bit selfish here as much as I love england I would want roy to remain at fulham for mysake but for Roy if its the england job he want s then good luck for there is no better englishmen I think mr rednap would run a very close second

I think this is a foregone conclusion if Capello leaves after the World Cup. Of course, if Roy gets an offer from a bigger club this summer, then maybe not.

give us a couple more years with him before he leaves, if you don't mind...

Great bloke, great boss, I'd be honoured to watch an England side answer to Hodgson. My personal view is that not much has actually changed under Capello so if he doesn't do well in the World Cup there will be a change. Hodgson is my first choice, no doubt about that.

Maybe he would drop "2 a season" Heskey

Hodgson's brilliant, but even he would need a super-sized dose of luck to guide that bunch of tw*ts to any real success - unless he's so corageous as to bring forward the next generation, and do it in a better manner than this one was introduced.
