'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Never Entered His Mind!

Quite ironic really that after having complained that we fielded a weakened side up at Hull, that an even weaker side put West Ham to the sword yesterday.

With the Europa League Final looming large, (Sir) Roy was always going to field a weakened eleven but they were still too good for a side that only just escaped relegation because there were, unbelievably, three worse than them.

But that complaint still grates and after the match it was one of the things Roy discussed in his post match interview when he remarked,

"I`m delighted we could rest players and play those I had confidence in." They did the job."

"If they played badly, it would have been damaging. But it shows the strength of the club this season. I never thought about the comments West Ham made earlier this season."

"I spoke to Gianfranco Zola after those comments were published and he made it absolutely clear they didn`t come from him."

"I wanted to win. I wanted to avoid that 'After the Lord Mayor`s Show` feeling and fortunately I got it."

Now I think what Roy meant was that he never gave a thought to those West Ham comments when he picked yet another under-strength side!

Good on you Roy!

it shows that he made his decisions in good conscience and had no guilt residing in him... it was a case of be careful what you wish for, as i'm sure that west ham was wishing for a weakened side, but all 3 points were taken by that weakened side...

Allegedly the complaint was made in haste by the two new owners, apparently they tried to withdraw the complaint. Either way I think we made our point on Sunday!
