With the country set to go to the polls next Thursday, the nation is gripped by voting fever.
Well it should be but there seems to be an air of apathy around the general election this time around.
But, another poll, whereby the result is eagerly awaited, could give everybody a nice surprise.
I say a surprise because usually the manager who leads his side to the title gets all the accolades, but this year could be different.
There appears to be a growing clamour for (Sir) Roy Hodgson to be, quite rightly, named as Manager of the Year.
Following our sensational Europa League run, whereby we`ve humbled some big European names, several leading managers, all highly respected gentlemen, have stepped forward to pledge their support forRoy.
We`ve dug out a selection of them for your perusal.
Sir Alex Ferguson
"This is one of the best British club achievements of all time. I sent him a text message telling him everyone at this club was wishing them all the best, it was unbelievable, absolutely incredible."
"Roy`s squad can only have about 16 players and he`s got another four games. That will be 63 games. We played 58 last season and thought it was a miracle."
"They started the Europa League in July. Crikey, I was on the beach then! So he is Manager of the Year, no doubt about it."
Arsene Wenger
"Roy has made his side punch above its weight and maybe he is the one who deserves the award."
"He has intelligence, experience and has made good buys."
"He was at Inter Milan, so he`s been at big clubs. Some people`s careers work in mysterious ways and maybe he`s at the best period of his life now."
Harry Redknapp
"What Roy`s done in Europe is amazing. Should he get Manager of the Year? Yes!
Mick McCarthy
"Hodgson has my vote."
Brian Laws
"I would be devastated for Roy if he does not get Manager of the Year. It would be absolutely disgraceful."
All we have to do now is sit back and wait if Roy has pulled off a remarkable coup!
