Fulham - Brede on Arsenal!

With the grapevine suggesting that Arsenal could be on the look out for a centre back or two, we`re glad that our own hero is prepared to admit he`s glad he stayed with us this season.

Apparently, Arsene Wenger doesn`t know whether William Gallas, Sol Campbell or Mikael Silvestre will be signing new contracts, thereby sparking the rumour again about a possible interest in Brede.

Following the victory over Hamburg though, Brede poured cold water on Arsneal by exclaiming,

"I`ve had so many great nights at Fulham and that was probably the best one."

"I signed a new contract here so I could take part in games like that and I`m really happy to be at the club."

"Does this justify rejecting a move to Arsenal? I think so."

"Nights like this are for the history books and something I will always remember."

Well said Brede, money isn`t everything mate!

Brede's ambition has rightly led him to stay at Fulham and has been rewarded by a final with Fulham, THE ONLY BRITISH CLUB LEFT IN EUROPEAN COMPETITION!

As an Arsenal fan, I think I speak for most Gooners when I say that we wish Fulham much success in their Europa cup final. As fans of Wenger and Arsenal, we can all appreciate a club that is properly managed both on and off the field. However, before you begin to trip over your pride, I suggest you find out whether Wenger in fact made an offer for the big lad and was rejected. Despite all the media specualtion, all I vaguely remember your manager stating was that he had not receive a single phone call from Arsene Wenger on the matter while Wenger's only public comment, something to the effect that he admired Hangeland as a player.

czar you are absolutely correct... i remember roy making the same statements... maybe brede new more than we all did, and he talked to arsene and told him he was interested they would have given fulham an offer... who knows... all i know is that we have a great centre back in brede who loves the club and loves roy as a manager and is happy he played where he did this season... and we fully appreciate all of your support throughout the competition, in the past and in the future for the final. cheers mate.
