Fulham - A Picture Postcard Night!

Fulham - A Picture Postcard Night!

It`s still to really sink in!

Our club is in a European Final and mixing it with the big boys in Europe and coming out on top.

Last night was one of those nights that will long live in the memory of those that witnessed it and no doubt the players will also have a tale or two to tell about it in years to come.

Naturally, in the post match chaos that ensued, the media were eager ot grab a quick word with the scorers of the two goals, Simon Davies and Zoltan Gera.

Speaking to Simon Davies, the Welshman kept it short an sweet remarking,

"The manager said at half time 'keep playing your football and you`ll get your rewards` and we did."

We certainly did although for the first sixty-nine minutes it looked as if our previous 17 games in the competition was to come to nothing.

And then just like London Buses a second (goal) quickly followed the first with Zoltan Gera grabbing the glory, prompting the Hungarian to remark in the media scrum that ensued,

"It`s the most important goal I have ever scored so I`m very happy. It`s amazing. We did so well, every single player."

And so, with an all-English final out of the equation our glorious Europa League campaign heads off to the Nordbank Arena, where we`ll play Atletico Madrid in an end of season finale we`ll all remember!

Is this really the year we end our search for a major trophy? Could this really be the year we etch our name into history, you`d better believe it, after this monumental journey I suggest it`s written in the stars!

Unbelievable night!!! I remember going to my first game 22 years ago when I was 6 years old and we were in the lower leagues. Now, we're in the Europa Cup Final!!! Anyone know where I can get tickets to the final? I live in NYC now and am spending about $2500 on flights over to Hamburg so want to find a cheap ticket somewhere

Congratulations on getting to the final and I really hope you win it. In an age where a lot of the team play second strings and focus on 4th (cough Villa cough) you've really shown the Corinthian values of football. Roy Hodgson has always been a class act and hadn't got the credit he deserved because he had the guts to do things differently in his career i.e Managing abroad.
