Fulham - Hodgson Wiles Away the Time

Well they finally got to Hamburg, after a seventeen hour struggle to navigate the roads of Europe!

It appears that (Sir) Roy Hodgson spent the time reading but upon arriving in Hamburg he did have a few quotes relating to the journey when he remarked,

"This is an act of God. We have to keep things in perspective. Some people have been stranded abroad with no money to get home."

"But we stopped ourselves from getting depressed."

"I`m very pleased with the way the players have accepted the fact it wasn`t easier to get here, something that was beyond everyone`s control and the way they`ve adapted to the situation."

As usual Roy was the personification of calmness itself. Like he says, there`s nothing you can do about it so get on it with. But I wouldn`t mind guessing they`ll be flying home tonight.

Perhaps Roy will use the carrot/stick approach - win and you fly home; lose and you can climb back on that coach.
