Fulham - He Could Have Been One Of Us!

As we prepare to face Hamburg there`s a decent chance that we`ll bump into an old acquaintance who has already graced the Premier League.

Ruud van Nistelrooy had a glorious career with Manchester United before moving to Real Madrid. But, it transpires, that whilst Ruud was at Real Madrid Fulham actually enquired about his services with Rudd remarking, on the eve of the game,

"Fulham asked Real Madrid about me but did not come up with a concrete proposition."

"The decision to join Hamburg was purely down to sporting aspects. I am still very ambitious and wanted to play as many minutes as possible this season."

Interesting!

And as for our remarkable Europa League run, Ruud pays us this compliment,

"It is incredible that they are in a European semi-final but they fully deserve their success."

"Having said that, if we don`t make the final it will be a total disaster. It is impossible to think we might fail."

Another thoroughly nice chap by the sound of things!

so it seems... it really makes me think that fergie's a "my way or the highway" type of manager, and can get blinded by his hubrus...

I'm sure he's quite the prima donna, himself, but nice words nonetheless.
