Big John Carew to move to Fulham?

Big John Carew to move to Fulham?

It appears that the tabloids have unearthed a story of Aston Villa's forward buying a pad in the Fulham area, sparking rumours of him joining Fulham!

If this happens, though he is 30, I think he would be a great buy as he is both great in the air and with the ball at his feet and he holds the ball up well.

He has not featured much in Martin O'Neil's side this season and with rumours of the manager leaving and John looking for regular football, it makes sense he would want to join the Mighty Whites.

From what I have seen he also has a great work ethic. Could be a great partner for Bobby, but also could play that role if Bobby is injured and could also link well with AJ.

Your thoughts please......

I'm a big fan of Carew and I've never quite understood why O'Neill has been so hesitant to play him this season. As he and Zamora have the same type of style, I don't know how they would partner, but I'd certainly be willing to give it a go. Ultimately, though, I think he's going to cost too much for us; unless we're planning on selling some other players this summer. I'm becoming more and more concerned about our financial arrangement with Al Fayed. We owe him A LOT of money and if something should ever happen that sees him leave, I'm concerned that what's happened to Portmouth might happen to us. This may be a summer of conservative spending.

Carew has scored 10 in the last 12 (I think) and has started in each of those games. Not sure about the work ethic as he is often accused of not turning up in games. However he's loved at Villa Park. I for one hope he stays with us. You can have Heskey though if you like ;)

Oh sorry adam deuce i thought he has been sitting on the bench a lot this season. If he does come, our gain will be your loss, me thinks.

Carew spent a good while out injured then had to wait to get back into the team to be fair. He does pick up a fair share of knocks (few months last winter also out with a back problem) On his day he is awesome, truly great, but he does drift off. MON said he only plays well 1 in 7 and I must admit, I have a love hate relationship, love the BIG John Carew but despise the uninterested version we often get!

not sure how he and bobby would play together, unless we somehow had big sam as our manager (and i would cry if we did) and we lumped balls up to them... he does have a spotty injury record, as a fantasy manager i would know! he and brede would get on famously i think, but not convinced we need him...
