'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Just like Everton?

Every year you hope that your club progresses!

Last year our finishing place of 7th was the highest in our history. To improve on that was always going to be a mammoth task but there are many out there who believe that, although we sit lower in the league this season, we have done that.

Our superb run in the Europa League has opened a few eyes around Europe and the name of Fulham Football Club now just rolls of the tongue.

But, with the inevitable financial constraints we must operate under, you have to ask yourselves where it`ll all come to a grinding stop, of where our progress will hit the buffers.

Or do you!

Today, ahead of our clash with Wolves, (Sir) Roy Hodgson has spoken about investment being made this summer to see us challenging for European football on a regular basis, or as Roy puts it, just like Everton, remarking,

"We all see Everton as a really good quality Premier League team quite capable of being in Europe and they have done that by keeping the same players together and bringing the odd player in."

"For me that would be the way to go."

Seems fair enough to me!

That works for me, but I think we should aspire to a little more than the Stephen Kelly/David Elm types. 'Bringing the odd player in' that's not up to scratch is not going to sustain success.

teddy i think he was working with what he could get at the time... and i think know the quality of the "odd player" that he can bring in will be significantly higher... just as we should be an example of how to run a club for the club below us, everton should absolutely be an example of how we should run our club... they have a great manager in moyes, who has had them finishing in the top 7 for a number of years now, and pushing for a top four finish... i don't know the money differences between us and everton, but if they can do it, then why can't we? it's a constant work in progress, but i hope we can get to a point where we're finishing in the top 7 consistently...
