'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Stoking the Anfield Fire!

As Fulham prepare to play (possible Europa League Final) opponents in the shape of Liverpool, at Anfield, there are a couple of tasty quotes in the Sunday tabloids this morning.

Our away form in the Premier League is, quite honestly, embarrassing. Despite our forays into Europe, we`ve only won the solitary away game in the Premier League, a poor return from such a talented squad.

But Zoltan Gera, who has been in fine form in the last couple of months, thinks that Liverpool will be the perfect opposition, when he remarks,

"It is better for us to play against teams who want to play football. They always want to win every game at home because they are Liverpool."

My biggest fear is that score early and we`re in for an uncomfortable afternoon.

Naturally, having played for Liverpool, Danny Murphy will be looking forward to a return to Anfield and Danny has been watching from afar as Rafa Benitez saw fit to more or less beg for more funds to take his side further, commenting on the fact that Benitez has already splashed out a mammoth £229 million on players,

"I think the turnaround of players has been a little too high."

"They`ve certainly had enough money in summers gone by and have had some good players."

"You can analyse it all you like but, at the end of it all, expectations of everyone at the club is to be successful - and that has not happened."

Well that little dig should set us up nicely for a fascinating encounter!
