Fulham - Pushing for the Final!

Tonight Fulham will be, in our opinion, looking to pull of their greatest coup in European football.

Progressing to the Europe League semi-finals, past an impressive Wolfsburg team will surpass anything we`ve achieved so far, including beating Shakhtar and Juventus.

But, progress tonight isn`t the be all and end all, as (Sir) Roy correctly remarks, reaching the final, now we`ve come so far, remains our key objective and on the eve of the crucial fixture, (Sir) Roy has emphasized this point, remarking,

"In any cup competition you want to go all the way and there are enough players in our side with experience."

"Internationals, who have played top-level UEFA football with their clubs before coming to Fulham."

"I don`t need to persuade them that a quarter-final is only a quarter-final and that we need to get to the final - they know that themselves."

"Wolfsburg made the tie very interesting and we come here knowing we need to get a positive result."

"We know, to help us in that task, we need to score a goal and I think the way we play and the way we set out will always give us a chance to score that goal."

Back in August, when this season started, who`d have ever predicted (and been believed) that Fulham would out last Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in European competition?

I didn't think we'd get out of the group stage; not because we lacked the talent, but because I didn't think we'd take it seriously enough. This entire experience has been a pleasant surprise.

i'm glad we treated this competition with the respect that it deserved, as it really was a reward for doing as well as we did last season... we treated it with respect, and it's returning the favor now... what a night in store...

Congratulations on your continued efforts in this competition. You have done our country proud plus yourselves.

A comfortable, mature display. How Davies and Murphy's efforts stayed out, I don't know!
