Fulham - The Record Has Gone!

Yesterday, amidst the upset of our FA Cup exit, our name was also wiped from the record books.

But, perhaps it should be added that not many people will shed a tear over it being so!

Previously, Fulham were in the record books as the club that had fielded the oldest, average age, starting eleven for a Premier League fixture.

Back on February 28th, the average age of our starting eleven was 30 years and 180 days!

Last night, Portsmouth who were entertaining that lot from down the Fulham Road, obliterated that record by fielding a starting eleven with an average age of 30 years and 300 days!

For a club with our financial outlook (fiscally responsible, I mean), it's difficult to strike a balance between youthful vigor and seasoned experience. Don't want to be too old or too young. Squad size won't accommodate both at the same time. I think this summer will begin the slow progression towards a more youthful side.
