Fulham - Europa League Draw

After the exertions of Thursday evening, all Fulham fans were eagerly awaiting the draw for the next stages of the Europa League, in Nyon, today.

Having overcome Shakhtar Donetsk and Juventus in the knockout stages so far, Fulham are starting to carve out something of a reputation as a dark horse for the competition.

In the end, after lots of kerfuffle which made events seem far more complicated than they should have been, the draw for the quarter-finals came out as thus:-

Fulham v Wolfsburg

Hamburg v Standard Liege

Valencia v Atletico Madrid

Benfica v Liverpool

With the pairings for the semi-final ties having also been made and coming out as thus:-

Fulham / Wolfsburg v Hamburg / Standard Liege

Valencia / Atletico Madrid v Benfica / Liverpool

The quarter-final ties will take place on the 1st and 8th April with the semi-final ties scheduled for the 22nd and 29th April.

The final is scheduled to be played on 12th May in the Hamburg Arena, in Germany!

Yep. Can't complain about the draw. Would've preferred Standard Liege in the quarters, but Wolfsburg will do. They're a decent side, with a lethal trio - Grafite, Dzeko and Misimovic - but are fairly weak defensively. Just glad we didn't draw Valencia.
