Fulham - That Dempsey Goal

It`s great to have Clint Dempsey back!

His absence, through injury, removed a certain something from our game and although he`s probably not fully match-fit yet his ability to produce something special was never under-lined more than last night.

Sat pedaling one of those bikes, loosening up those muscles and breaking into a sweat, I doubt there was a soul inside Craven Cottage who had an inkling of what the American was to serve up.

Chasing that vital fourth goal, hopes were high, expectation levels were rising but at the same time those old nerves were starting to jangle at the prospect of extra time and possibly penalties.

And then Clint delivered!

An exquisite chip left the keeper looking at thin air as the ball sailed delightfully into the top corner of the goal.

Cue scenes of wild celebration and the rest, as they say, is history!

Asked about his moment of inspiration, Clint modestly replied,

"Nine times out of ten a shot like that wouldn`t have made it, but sometimes you`ve got to go for it. Luckily it worked tonight."

Another contender for the Fulham goal of the season!

in terms of importance, it's a tough debate between dempsey v. juventus and zamora v. shaktar... both were tie winners and put us through... was a season it's been...
