Fulham - Red Card Mania!

Fulham - Red Card Mania!

They say that over the course of a season things tend to even themselves out!

I`m not saying I agree with it though but last night did have a certain touch of poetic justice about it.

After being on the end of some extremely dodgy red cards already, in this tournament, most notably those handed out to Stephen Kelly and Erik Nevland, it brought a wry smile to my face to see Juventus players trudging off after being shown red.

A point picked up on perfectly by (Sir) Roy who remarked afterwards,

"I thought the sending off was hard, but not as tough as two or three we have had this season."

Now let`s hope that`s all done and dusted and the quarter-final can pass without any controversial incidents!

Gera would've been through on goal had Cannavaro not impeded him, so by the letter of the law, the red was appropriate, but I must confess that had it been a yellow, instead, I couldn't have been too aggrieved. Zebina and Melo were petulent all night, so I wasn't surprised that one them got sent off.

agreed... such a lack of class from the old lady... melo was looking for a booking the whole night, and zabina, as the captain, was kicking out at duff... (i guess i can't complain too loudly with murphy seated for both juventus matches for just that reason, but i was enraged at murphy for kicking out and missing the matches) it might have been a bit light, but gera was in on goal... that's a red i'm sorry... the penalty was a bit fortunate, but as roma about cheap penalties and red cards... don't bother looking for sympathy at fulham...
