Fulham - Starting Eleven v Juventus.

With kick-off now just over half an hour away the team news has filtered in from Turin.

Roy Hodgson has made just the one change from the eleven that started against Spurs, in the FA Cup, on Sunday, with Paul Koncheskey returning (from injury) in place of the ineligible Nicky Shorey.

With Danny Murphy suspended after his straight red card against Shakhtar Donetsk, Fulham line up as follows:-

Schwarzer, Baird, Hughes, Hangeland, Konchesky, Duff, Davies, Etuhu, Greening, Gera and Zamora.

Interestingly, Roy chose to name just the six substitutes but one surprise inclusion on the bench was Clint Dempsey.

Subs - Zuberbuhler, Kelly, Nevland, Dempsey, Smalling, Marsh-Brown.

Good luck lads!

hmmm... what would i do differently? would i bring in kelly for baird? probably not... no sense moving baird to central midfield... is elm cup tied? that's a big moment for marsh-brown, no? how healthy is nevland? depending on how they're playing, i think i might bring nevland on for greening, and let gera play attacking midfield... try riise for davies maybe if davies doesn't look up for it... it's a tough one... do we know when we get danny back?

Writing at half-time, Juve don't look particularly special. Baird could have done much more for he first and third goal- too static. A fortunate away goal for us. But I'm optimistic we can do more in the second half. Gera needs to sort his play out at this stage

come on lads - this is slipping away from you!

Writing at full-time. Well I can say that we didn't play nearly as well as we can. Things I noted are as follows; Gera was well off the pace, Baird was playing like he didn't want to be there (is he carrying an injury?), the defence weren't attacking the ball- is this tactical? Duff struggled, I'm not sure that he successfully made any crosses. Dickson looked good. Bobby was punished unnecessarily...again! But more than anything, aside from anything that the Whites did right or wrong... the gamesmanship of Juve. As a man, I'd be ashamed to fall over so much and to make such a fuss of nothing. I'd be embarrassed to go home to my wife and children.

and although both of them are lacking match practice, fantastic to have Dempsey and Konchesky back

Unlucky about the 3-1, juventus are nothing special you have the away goal and as a villa fan i am fully suporting you to go get a 2-0 win at craven cottage and also beat spurs in the fa cup ;)

Woeful defending on set pieces. Astonishingly poor first touches. Sloppy passing. We really made Juve look better than they were. I could write a page on Greening's performance. REALLY missed Murphy.

Also, Konchesky did not seem quite fit. Seemed to be struggling a little. A tough ask for his first game back to be away to Juve.
Teddy_KGB
argee with everything teddy... shorey was missed, which is crazy to say, all things considered... the highlights were really the fortunate away goal and dempsey back on the field... now konch might have been off the pace, but he certainly reminded me that he's not that competent of an actual defender... we should not have given up the third goal... that may have killed the tie over both legs, but time will tell... it's possible, but not probable i must say.. i must say, please oh please shed greening this summer... he's just not up for it... and davies i think has stayed past his usefulness... zebina WALKED by him for the second goal... terrible...
