England - U21`s Defeat - Smalling Cops For It!

It was a harsh comment I know - suggesting that Sir Alex Ferguson may have made a rash decision in paying an extortionate fee for Chris Smalling!

But there`s no denying that the youngster is still very much - work in progress!

Last night Chris was part of the England U21 side that took on a strong Greece side in the European Qualifiers. Sadly, England came out second best and are five points behind the Greek side with only two games remaining.

Even sadder was the fact that Chris was responsible for the second England goal, apparently losing concentration allowing Ioannis Papadopoulos the opportunity to ram the game out of England`s reach.

But Chris wasn`t the only culprit on a bad night for our U21 squad with their coach, Stuart Pearce, lamenting,

"We were poor."

"Greece deserved to win and we must learn from this."

"The boys have rarely let me down - but they were poor tonight."

Like we said; work in progress!

hey, he's a kid... they're paying for potential, not present ability... he can still be a great player, and international u21 experience can only make him stronger... in other news, any one see that okaka scored for the u21 italians?
woodysweats
so Okaka can score for someone then?

I imagine that Okaka is a beast of a man against some of these kids
