Fulham - Old Firm Mutterings!
Sunday afternoon was one of those afternoons that many football supporters eagerly wait for, an Old Firm clash!
Sat in front of the television waiting for the broadcast to begin I should admit that I had another agenda. As well as hoping I was about to witness a keenly contested match, I was keen to see how two of those who have worn the white of Fulham would fare, Steven Davis and Diomansy Kamara.
Kamara has only just moved to Glasgow Celtic and his arrival has seen him score on a couple of occasion prompting the suggestion that a recall to the Senegal national side was on the agenda.
Davis, on the other hand, is firmly settled at Glasgow Rangers after leaving Craven Cottage, a while ago, to join the Ibrox club on a regular basis.
Now on Sunday, in the cauldron that was Ibrox, it has to be said that Diomansy Kamara hardly had a look in as the Rangers defence shut-out a Celtic attack that was deprived of service by their midfield counterparts.
Davis, on the other hand, looked to be a bundle of energy and was instrumental in driving Rangers forward time and time again and only the skills of the Celtic keeper prevented Davis from getting on the score sheet.
Talking to a few ardent followers of Scottish football, they believe that Davis is in the running for the Scottish Player of the Year Award this season, such has been his influence.
Which brings me round to the point of this piece - were we right to sell Davis or should we have nurtured him through his non-productive period?
Or, to be blunt, is the Scottish Premier League a league whereby the quality of football is the right level for a player to shine who didn`t quite look the part at Craven Cottage?
