Fulham - Hodgson Apologies?

Those last few minutes, against Shakhtar Donetsk were manic to say the least.

Defending the narrowest of leads the frustration felt by the Donetsk players manifested itself in an outbreak of foul play that even caused 'Gentleman Roy;` to leap from his seat and seriously berate the offender.

With Damien Duff lying on the ground still recovering from the scything tackle Roy could be seen going red on the face venting his spleen, a fact he was very keen to apologise for in his after match interview when he remarked,

"It was a bad foul on Damien Duff by Costa and I was angry. It`s not good if you let your emotions get the better of you, it`s inexcusable."

"I made my excuses to ref Svein Oddvar Moen. Sometimes, the red mist falls but I`m thankful no further damage has been done."

"I want to aplogise."

What for Roy? Here at Vital Fulham we`d say it showed that you cared! After all the tackle was almost classified as an assault was it not!

It was a nasty tackle full of the desperation of a team being beaten. I was glad to see that Roy was emotive about it, as it happened right under his nose. But the reaction is not dignified and out of character. Kill it with kindness- it always works

Both manager and captain showed their passion and in the heat of battle emotions come through. Fulham did us proud and though Danny was sent off, nothing was lost on an historic night.....

i think the jury's out on danny until we see how we fair without him... for roy, that was quite surprising, but understandable at the least... he got caught up in the moment and apologized afterwards... he can't be faulted for that really...
