Fulham - Hodgson Reflects!

Fulham - Hodgson Reflects!

The beauty of kicking off at 18:00 hours couldn`t have been more evident than last night!

Having stormed into the last sixteen of the Europa League, where a two legged tie with Juventus awaits us, I was able to take a very pleasant stroll down the pub for a celebratory drink or three and then still return for the 22:00 news, a far cry from the late, late nights some of our domestic games afford us.

This morning, with it being a Friday morning, I`m on a natural high anyway but last nights wonderful result has only further enhanced that, it`s put an added bounce in my step.

Last night, I`d imagine the gallant few who journeyed to the Ukraine had quite a journey home and I`d also imagine that the player`s and staff of Fulham Football Club also had an enjoyable flight home on what Roy perfectly described as,

"It has been a wonderful night for the club and I really enjoyed the performance."

On reflection this morning, those first twenty minutes or so, by Shakhtar, showed just how the beautiful game should be played, fast and precise passing, spreading the play and leaving the opposition chasing ghosts, a fact Roy also commented upon, remarking,

"Shakhtar showed what a good team they are. Their ability to pass and keep the ball is as good as I`ve seen in my 35-year career."

Which, I would say, makes our progression all the more sweeter, does it not?

I believe that Roy was always quietly confident of an upset. If we can keep the same side for Juventus, I think we have a good chance of making the quarters
