'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Hangeland Ahead of Tonight!

If we`re still smiling come 20:00 hours tonight and contemplating another Europa League challenge in the shape of Ajax or Juventus then we`ll no doubt be reflecting on a fine defensive performance in the Ukraine.

If that`s the case then it`s a sure fire fact that our Norwegian defender, Brede Hangeland, will have played an instrumental part in keeping Shakhtar at bay.

Ahead of this enormous challenge that faces us, Brede has spoken to the media about the threat the opposition pose and what will be required, explaining,

"We are in the lead but we all saw at Craven Cottage what a good team they are."

"We will have to play well, defend well and take our chances when they come."

"It`s a different game to what we are used to in the Premier League."

"We came into this competition as a bonus for doing well last year but we`d like to go as far as we can."

"It would be great to get through but we are fully focused on this game and not what might happen after."

Another advocate of the one game at a time principal.
