Fulham - Hodgson on Zamora

With the game delicately balanced at 1-1, Bobby Zamora stepped up to score a contender for goal of the season at Craven Cottage last night.

The manner in which his shot fairly fizzed into the top corner, and from such a long way out, gave it a special edge.

After the game, Roy Hodgson waxed lyrical about his striker, remarking,

"As well as his usual accomplished performance as a target player, his touch for the first goal was a touch of real quality."

"And we`re talking about a striker who has scored 14 goals in 32 games now. It`s an excellent strike rate and I hope he gets over the 20-goal mark and crowns his season."

Twenty goals in a season would be an incredible return considering the drought Bobby suffered last season, let`s all hope he reaches that mark with ease. His performances, this season, deserve it!

20 is an outrageous tally considering last season and the early start to this season. I hope he gets it.

Bobby for England - got to be a possibility hasn't it?

If Zamora can keep it up a bit longer, lose the angry goal celebration (was Duff shushing the crowd last night, not Bobby) and stop bickering with linesmen, England is a distinct possibility
