'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Shorey - One Giant Step!

The acquisition of Nicky Shorey, on loan is proving to be another wise move by Roy Hodgson.

The full back, who had been playing on loan at Championship side Nottingham Forest, has slipped back into Premier League life as if he`s never been away.

Shorey also appears to be enjoying life at Fulham and he too is starting to be enveloped by talk of a possible trip to Wembley in the FA Cup.

Remarkably, for a player who has played top-flight football for so long, Shorey is now entering unchartered ground as far as the FA Cup is concerned, as he explains,

"I've not got very far before, to be honest. This is the furthest I've got."

"When I was at Reading, we didn't really get too far because we were so focused on trying to stay in the Premier League and we changed the team about a bit."

"A quarter-final would be a great experience, if selected. It's great to be part of a squad that will be looking forward to such a big game."

'I love the FA Cup. It's still a great competition to win."

Is FA Cup mania about to grip Craven Cottage?

We are certainly not short of games so the new lads are not just sitting around. I think there is a really good buzz about Fulham's position in all three competitions. Going well in the league. 10th with 12 games to go is a very good return on the back of the squad's health and extra games. That brings me onto europe and now i feel we can go further. As we can in the FA Cup too. I can see why Nicky is loving it at Fulham. A league game...premiership win. The next game.....fa cup 5th round win. Now europa 2 leg knock out games.....against the holders. ACTUALLY I NOW FEEL VERY PROUD OF OUR LITTLE CLUB DOWN BY THE RIVER.......COYW!!!!!

seriously, is there a better time to be a fulham faithful? too many people told us that the europa league would drive us out of the premier league, and look where we stand... no better way to say you're wrong than with results on the pitch!

it could turn out to be another memorable season - three on the trot if you include that marvelous escape at Fratton Park!

Still a long way to go in ALL competitions. Take full points from Brum on Sunday and I'll feel a lot better. Picking up Shorey was brilliant and has made huge difference in just a few matches. I must admit, he wasn't even on my radar when we were discussing a left back.
