Fulham - Hodgson on County Win!

With his usual humility, Roy Hodgson addressed the media after our fine 4-0 FA Cup win over League Two side, Notts County, yesterday.

With Fulham in the last eight for the second successive season, Roy had every right to be dreaming of a Wembley appearance but he was also delighted with the fact that his side are scoring goals from all areas of the team, commenting,

"Bobby has 13 goals now and that is a good return for the games he`s played. We are also getting goals from people like Damien Duff."

"There are goals in midfield, David Elm will chip in and hopefully Okaka will be scoring."

But, he was also magnanimous to give praise where it was due, to Notts County and their valiant effort, with perhaps the score line being a little unkind to them, remarking,

"This match was a real potential banana skin and I`m just happy we didn`t slip on it."

"I wasn`t wrong to suggest they would give us a good game."

"It was important to set our stall out and pressurise. It worked well in the first half and gave us a two goal cushion. It worked perfectly because we saw the game through and were able to rest players for the last 20 minutes with games on Thursday and Sunday coming up."

"It is nice to get four goals and be in the hat."

Indeed it is Roy but you get the feeling that Thursday will be a different kettle of fish altogether!

Doubt we'll make much effort at all against Shakhtar Donetsk, but who knows. Roy might suprise me (again).

so should we give up on the Europa League and concentrate on Wembley!
Al Billy
tricky one but after toying with the suggestion - YES!
Putney
mmmm.....lets not injury ourselves. I think it should be used as a good opportunity to play the finge players and maybe the youngsters on the bench, so resting some first team players!!
Leonestar
that's crap, we should compete... if we send out the c squad, and lose, we'll never know if we could have progressed... why not compete? keep our squad in match fit shape...
woodysweats
calm down woody....lets be realistic we have alot of games and a good shout of fa cup glory. I think that you are being unfair to the squad's tallent. In fact when players have been called upon they have stepped. Sounds like you dont have any faith in the squad. Actually I want us to go as far as we can, with the best available players but, as roy said, its an adventure, his focus is the league.

All the teams roy has put out have competed. No one has smashedus... Mate wake up and smell reality...we were nearly a championship club only a couple of years ago! Oh and we are only 2 wins away from the FA CUP FINAL!!!! How many wins do we need to reach the Europa Cup Final??? And which would you rather prefer we won......ITS THE FA CUP OF COURSE. Nuff said
Leonestar
woody is right we need to complete and yes all roys teams complete at least in the home leg leys give it a go only 4 games to another quater final dont let roy fool us he will want to win europa leage as much as the rest of us he is just keeping it low key me thinks
truth sayer ffc
Ok I think we all agree that we want the best for Fulham and we have our passionate views. If we were injury free then yes but as roy said that this is probably the worst a squad of his with injuries since he has been in management. That must be saying some. We are a small squad. We have 12 prem games left and the FA Cup. Coulple more injuries and we are in trouble....
