With his usual humility, Roy Hodgson addressed the media after our fine 4-0 FA Cup win over League Two side, Notts County, yesterday.
With Fulham in the last eight for the second successive season, Roy had every right to be dreaming of a Wembley appearance but he was also delighted with the fact that his side are scoring goals from all areas of the team, commenting,
"Bobby has 13 goals now and that is a good return for the games he`s played. We are also getting goals from people like Damien Duff."
"There are goals in midfield, David Elm will chip in and hopefully Okaka will be scoring."
But, he was also magnanimous to give praise where it was due, to Notts County and their valiant effort, with perhaps the score line being a little unkind to them, remarking,
"This match was a real potential banana skin and I`m just happy we didn`t slip on it."
"I wasn`t wrong to suggest they would give us a good game."
"It was important to set our stall out and pressurise. It worked well in the first half and gave us a two goal cushion. It worked perfectly because we saw the game through and were able to rest players for the last 20 minutes with games on Thursday and Sunday coming up."
"It is nice to get four goals and be in the hat."
Indeed it is Roy but you get the feeling that Thursday will be a different kettle of fish altogether!![]()
